Saint Kitts and Nevis at a glance: its flag, its capital Basseterre, its population and where it sits on the world map. Plus a way to test yourself afterwards.
Adopted on 19 September 1983, independence day, this flag combines the green of fertile land and the red of the independence struggle, separated by a broad black diagonal band edged in gold.
Black recalls the African heritage of the population, gold the Caribbean sunshine, and the two white stars represent hope and liberty for the two islands, Saint Kitts and Nevis, joined in a single federation.
No land border.
