Namibia at a glance: its flag, its capital Windhoek, its population and where it sits on the world map. Plus a way to test yourself afterwards.
Adopted on 21 March 1990, independence day, this flag reuses the colours of SWAPO, the independence movement that became the ruling party: blue for the sky and the Atlantic Ocean, red for the courage of the Namibian people and green for vegetation.
The white diagonal stripe separating the blue from the red stands for peace and national unity, while the golden twelve-rayed sun set in the blue triangle represents life and energy.
