Armenia: its flag

The red-blue-orange horizontal tricolour was adopted as early as 1918 by the first Republic of Armenia, independent for three years before Soviet annexation; it was restored on 24 August 1990, even before the 1991 declaration of independence.

According to the Armenian constitution, red evokes the Armenian Highlands and the people's struggle for survival, blue the country's peaceful skies, and orange the talent and hard work of its people.
