Czechia at a glance: its flag, its capital Prague, its population and where it sits on the world map. Plus a way to test yourself afterwards.
The white and red come from the arms of Bohemia; the blue wedge was added in 1920 to tell the Czechoslovak flag apart from Poland’s, which carries the same two bands.
At the 1993 split, Czechia kept the flag, even though the partition agreement stated that neither successor state would reuse the shared symbols.
